Perform general maintenance and repair of building structures and their mechanical, electrical and sanitary systems throughout district.

 

Qualifications:

Valid Texas drivers license

Ablity to follow verbal and written directions

Knowledge of basic construction and routine maintenance and repair problems

Ability to communicate effectively 

Ability to operate hand and power tools

Ability to work independently

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Repair and Maintenance of district facilities, including repairing; woodwork; replacing electrical switches, fixtures and painting; replacing and repairing plumbing fixtures and drainage systems;and replacing broken glass

Perform maintenance and minor repairs

Assist in the relocation of furnishing such as desks, tables, chairs, file cabinets, etc

Unload shipments of school supplies and commodities

Move and install assemble and repair all school furniture and playground equipment 

Hang pictures, mirrors, blackboards, bulletin boards, projection screens, towel dispensers, soap dispensers and other items as required

Install ceiling and flooring materials

Maintain tools and equipment and perform preventative maintenance as required

Work conditions

Continued walking and standing; frequent heavy lifting and carrying; climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching.  Work outside and inside.  Exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes and odors

Experience;

One year experience in general maintenance preferred

Days of service:250 days
